• About Bags

As I transition from my role as Director of College Counseling at Community School (Sun Valley, Idaho), I look forward to continuing to offer my professional knowledge in assisting students and families in their college search and the application and decision-making processes.

In over thirty-five years as an educator in both independent and public schools, I have been fortunate to have served in a wide range of administrative and teaching roles. Over the past fifteen years – as Academic Dean and Director of College Counseling in Maine and Idaho – I have worked directly with over a thousand high school students and their parents in the post-secondary school/college process. I am fluent in the technical side of college counseling (the search process, the application process, college essay writing, teacher recommendations, school report forms, standardized testing choices) and am confident in my ability to communicate and work with students, parents and college admission directors and representatives.

Sincerely,

Bags Brokaw

I would like to thank two great friends – Bob Brock and Bill Mayher – for their mentorship, guidance, and influence in shaping my thinking and approach to college counseling. Now retired, they are true pros and fine human beings. I never stop learning from them.
